The Uncommon Thread

I discovered The Uncommon Thread through Ravelry. A British based indie dyer with a real passion for British breeds and luxury fibres. Ce is the lady behind the inspirational colour palette that will leave you grabbing for your knitting needles or crochet hook!

It was her passion for British yarns and her eye for colour that really attracted me to Ce's yarns. I've been looking for just the right sportweight yarn to stock that would be great to use in Coastal Knits patterns like Wildflower and other knitting patterns that require a yarn that is lighter than a DK but not quite a 4ply.

When Ce agreed to dye a yarn base exclusively for Tangled Yarn I was really excited and totally thrilled. Silky Alpaca Sport is a blend of superfine alpaca and silk, its an amazing soft fuzzy yarn, with a beautiful drape so perfect for a project that is worn directly against your skin. It is available in 12 very tempting colours with wonderful names such as Cumulonimbus and Nimbostratus, which is bound to conjurer up images of cloudy skies!
